Once again this year, Coach Julie and her training team took a look at the next workout trends to give you a glimpse of what’s in store for 2024.

1. 💪 STRENGTH TRAINING IS BACK
We’d already noticed this trend in Éconofitness gyms in the past few years, but the rumour has been confirmed: strength training will prevail in 2024!
 
The benefits of building muscle are emphasized now more than ever. We’re gradually realizing how improving our muscular strength and endurance is in our best interest and even reduces our time on cardio equipment.
 
Adding strength-training sessions to your routine will allow you to be more independent in your daily life. It will also improve your posture, mobility and bone health. For maximum health benefits, follow a training program that includes cardio and strength training, like the one available on our website.
 
2. 💻 WE LOVE VIRTUAL WORKOUTS
As you probably know, virtual workouts have become a must. Let’s face it, being able to work out whenever and wherever is really convenient! And when it’s free, it’s even better!
 
And that’s exactly what you can do with our YouTube channel, which is your go-to when it comes to virtual workouts! Each workout was designed by our brilliant team of kinesiologists. There’s truly a workout for everyone and for every level of fitness.
 
From virtual group classes to instructional videos about a specific movements or piece of equipment by way of guided sessions for your gym workouts, the Éconofitness YouTube channel has everything you’re looking for. After all, Éconofitness’s mission is to make fitness accessible to everyone!
 
3. 👥 INNOVATIVE GROUP CLASSES ARE STILL A HIT
Group classes will stay on top of 2024 trends, and that makes us very happy! Why do they never go out of fashion? Because they change all the time and are adapted to what you want! Even if you like working out alone, don’t underestimate how motivating it can be to draw energy from a group, awesome music and an enthusiastic coach!
 
Last January, Éconofitness offered its EXTRA members something new with its Coached Workouts, semi-private, ultra-dynamic strength-training sessions in a group class setting.
 
We also have a wonderful surprise in store for our members, starting in January 2024. Fans of the world-renowned LesMills workouts will be thrilled to learn that the BODYCOMBAT class will be available at all Extra gyms! This complete, high-intensity, martial arts-inspired workout gets you letting off steam and having fun!

 
4. 😌 RECOVERY IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE
Our fast-paced lifestyle will give way to slower living in 2024. We need to take time to breathe in our personal, professional or school lives—it’s essential! This advice also applies to our workout routines.
 
Did you know that overtraining can be just as damaging as being sedentary? That’s why it’s important to balance your routine to include recovery. Doing so will also help you get better workouts.
 
Speaking of recovery, when you visit Éconofitness, how about wrapping up your workout with a moment of pure relaxation in the Platinum Zone? Take time to unwind!
 
5. 🥰 A VISION FOCUSED ON GLOBAL WELL-BEING
If you know us at all, you know how much we encourage you to be active and have fun. That’s why working out in 2024 should focus on our overall well-being.
 
Can we give up once and for the preconceived ideas about working out, pain and merit? Can we finally stop saying “we have to suffer to be beautiful” or thinking we have to “deserve” a good meal?
