OATMEAL SMOOTHIE | By Hubert Cormier
Presented by:
I’ve always loved oatmeal cookies. Or better yet, oatmeal raisin cookies! They’re definitely my number one choice when I see them in a coffee shop. This smoothie is heavily inspired by this snack, but with far better nutritional value! Just like overnight oats, this smoothie is prepared the night before so the oats can soak up all the flavours.
Servings: 2
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Refrigeration time: 8 hours
Ingredients
✔ 125 ml (1 cup) rolled oats
✔ 500 ml (2 cups) vanilla-flavoured almond beverage
✔ 60 ml (¼ cup) raisins or three pitted Medjool dates
✔ 5 ml (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon
✔ 5 ml (1 tsp.) vanilla extract
✔ A pinch of ground ginger
✔ A pinch of ground nutmeg
✔ A pinch of salt
✔ 1 frozen banana
HUBERT'S TIP
''If you want to eat this recipe as overnight oats the next day, add chia seeds to absorb the excess liquid and don’t put it in the blender!''
Preparation
1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except the banana. Refrigerate overnight.
2. The next day, pour the mix into a blender, add the frozen banana and blend until smooth.
3. Serve in two glasses.
