Despite a major shoulder injury, this young woman decided, in addition to undertaking physical rehabilitation, to begin psychological rehabilitation. Today, positive, smiling and more fit than ever, she can say: ''MISSION ACCOMPLISHED''! Way to go Jennifer!

🖤 WHAT KIND OF TRANSFORMATIOM DID YOU EXPERIENCE?
I underwent a physical and mental transformation (physical rehabilitation).

💛 WHEN DID YOU START YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY?
Early 2018

🖤 WHY DID YOU START YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY?
In October 2017, I had a severe injury to my right shoulder. For several months, I struggled with simple daily tasks like washing my hair or even trying to open a water bottle. Something as light as a Kleenex box was too heavy for me to hold. I had to do physiotherapy and occupational therapy six times a week for almost a year.

I became depressed and underweight. Although therapy was helping, I knew I needed something else that would make a positive impact not only for my recovery process but also my life. I decided to sign up for a gym membership.

💛 WHAT HABITS HAVE YOU CHANGED?
First, I started to change the way I looked at myself. The gym helped me see myself in a positive light rather then focus on my flaws.

I have also started to transition from a vegetarian diet to a vegan one, as well as cutting out sugar and junk food (but I still allow a cheat day occasionally haha!) Changing my habits have allowed me to not only look healthier but feel healthier too.

🖤 WHAT HAS BEEN THE OUTCOME AND WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE ASPECTS OF YOUR NEW LIFESTYLE?
Joining the gym has helped me build back the confidence I once lost. After each workout, my mind is clear of all negativity, and I have a sense of accomplishment.

Since starting this journey, I have gained 10 pounds and my body has become more toned. I am in the best shape I’ve ever been, even comparing to how I was before my injury. As well, my shoulder is now functional, and on most days, I can do a full workout without any restrictions or pain.

💛 WHAT ADVICE  WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO UNDERTAKE A JOURNEY SIMILAR TO YOURS?
My advice to anyone would be to remember to love yourself first. We often compare ourselves to others forgetting how much we have to offer. By being hard on ourselves, we block the opportunity to feel good both mentally and physically.

At the end, if you are happy with where you are and the journey you are taking, that is what matters most. Just remember; to keep smiling, always look forward and remember any goal can be reached if you believe in yourself.

✨💪😍
