WEIGHT GAIN COOKIES | By Hubert Cormier
Presented by:
Gaining weight can be a real challenge for some people. Many commercial products promise quick-fix solutions, but they invariably contain an endless list of ingredients that are sometimes difficult to pronounce. So, I set myself to creating an energy-dense cookie using all the right ingredients that are easily found in your kitchen (nothing from the chemistry lab!).
What I came up with packs about 250 calories, 25 grams of carbohydrates, 10 grams of fat, and 10 grams of protein… in addition to being ultra-delicious! Enjoy your workout!
Servings: 8 cookies
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
✔ 250 ml (1 cup) quick-cooking rolled oats
✔ 125 ml (½ cup) mixed unsalted nuts
✔ 60 ml (¼ cup) pureed dates
✔ 60 ml (¼ cup) nut butter
✔ 125 ml (½ cup) egg whites
✔ 40 g vanilla vegetable protein powder
✔ 1 grated apple
✔ 125 ml (½ cup) dried cranberries
✔ 5 ml (1 tsp.) cinnamon
✔ 1 pinch salt
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350 °F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix.
3. Shape into 8 cookies, flatten slightly, and bake for 10 minutes.
HUBERT'S TIP
''You can use different nuts or dried fruits in the same proportions to create new flavour combinations each time. A version I quite like is made with dried blueberries and crushed almonds, to which I add a bit of fresh ginger. Let your creativity run wild!''
